I wonder if people who report a lapse would also consider reporting how long they had been without a lapse.

It is a positive accomplishment to go without SI, and that positive accomplishment is not taken away when there has been a lapse.

Thus, I wonder if it might be helpful to keep in mind, and share, our good accomplishments when there has been a recent lapse.

We are all far more than our latest misstep.

That’s a good suggestion Bill.

Kit, I hope you aren’t too hard on yourself. Lapses happen. Just take one day at a time. I honestly never thought I’d get as far as I have this time around. I still don’t trust I have stopped forever but all I can do is take each day as it comes and hope for the best. Just keep on trying, you will get there one day

Thanks Bill3 and Whisperingskye. I'm being harder on myself than usual because I had to go to the ER to get stitched up and that is unusual for me. I don't usually do that much damage. So I'm embarrassed, depressed, upset, etc. I had gone 2 weeks, which doesn't seem like a lot of time, but it is an amount of time. My depression caught up with me. Thanks for the support and care! Sorry to hear that, I caved a couple of weeks ago (nearly healed up now) and it was largely due to anxiety feeling intolerable. Although last night I recognised another trigger for me which I am ashamed of and my shame makes me feel like hurting myself too.

9 days, I forget how long it had been before, at least since before Christmas. It helps feeling like I have to talk to my boyfriend about it now, but I kept this time from him for a while. I've been wanting to again, but so far I haven't.
