It’s been a very very long time since I’ve been in these forums, just wondering how everyone is doing right now?

Hi I'm new, I'm in an odd place mentally. Just here to hopefully find a new community. Thoughts of self harm have been pervasive lately. I grit my teeth to try to fight the thoughts off, it's been hard, especially when old traumatic tapes start replaying in my head.

I have been wanting to try something new for a few days

but I know I shouldn't because it is dangerous so I have just been either sticking to what I know, or trying to avoid everything SI related (which never really works).

I could be better. I self harmed last night after 18 months of not doing it. I feel let down, I feel kind of angry with myself, I feel remorseful, and I also feel a little better (No suicidal thoughts for example). Sigh. All my feelings are mixed up into a big puddle and it's hard to sort them out.

I feel like harming myself very much because I feel like my therapist is just trying to get rid of me by sending me to IOP.

I was doing okay, until I decided to take a lighter to my arm. I feel so ashamed to have given in to the urges. i've slipped up a few times in the last few months and I really struggle with that.
