I'm not sure if I can explain this well.

Yesterday I was having some pretty intense urges. I texted my T (it's okay to Text her) and said that I wanted to SH but that I probably wouldn't.

After a while she replied back, "Please don't."

I really didn't do any SH because of the relationship I have with my T. I didn't want to tell her I did it after she asked me not to. But I know it isn't always that simple. I can't just not do it because someone asks me not to. Well I could in this instance but it doesn't always work. I kind of felt like she was trading on her relationship with me instead of giving me a tool to use. But then I thought how important she is to me.

I've had romantic partners do that with me in the past It doesn't work. If it did, self harming wouldn't be a problem for anyone who has heard that in the past.
