I HAVE RAPID CYCLING BIPOLAR WHEN I STARTED TAKING THE MEDS AND I WAS HAVING A LOT OF UPS AND DOWNS I BEGAN CUTTING WHEN I WOULD GET REALLY UPSET AND CRYING JUST WASN'T ENOUGH........I FELT LIKE I NEEDED TO BE PUNISHED....TO CHANGE THE PAIN EVEN IF IT WAS FOR A LITTLE WHILE..........MY COMMON LAW REFUSES EVEN TO THIS DAY TO ACCEPT IT HE THINKS U CAN JUST STOP!! THEN ONE DAY I TRIED BURNING........I'M GLAD TO SAY THAT IT'S BEEN CLOSE TO 6MTHS SINCE I'VE DONE ANYTHING BUT THE FEELINGS HAVE BEEN THERE AND VERY HARD TO SUPPRESS BUT LATELY IT'S BEEN OVERWHELMING AND I DON'T FEEL LIKE I CAN HOLD ON ANYMORE.............

i am sorry things are so hard right now... it's great that you haven't si in 6 months... what i find helps me not to give into the urge is to picture it as a wave... and to remember that it will build up...and then subside... so when it's at the worst... i can remember that it will subside soon...lyn

Sounds like you're going through a lot. I'm sorry your partner doesn't know how to deal with things. Thats frequently the case, sadly.
