I'm back. I've been gone a couple months taking care of my parents. I'm still helping them, but just have a little more time to myself now.
Anyway, my therapist left for a two week vacation yesterday. She comes back September 7. I talked to her on the phone on Friday night and fell apart. I really miss her. I've wanted to cut and the feelings got pretty intense this afternoon. I don't want to disappoint her or ruin my record (one weekend in the past 18 months I've cut). I just don't know how I'm going to make it. My therapist has someone covering for her, but I don't know her and really don't want to have to explain everything to her.
Thanks for listening. I just needed to share.

Trying taking some time to write out your list of things to do in case your urges get stronger. It may help divert your attention for awhile longer. You can also write letters to your t. Pretend you are in session telling her your feelings. Hang in there.

I so understand not wanting to reach out to the covering therapist. When my doctor went on vacation for two weeks recently, it was tough. But I made it through. You can as well.

Hang around here as much as you need to. This place has gotten me through several months with no T - we'll get you through a couple of weeks. Therapist on vacation But it's good to know the substitute is available if you need her.
