Why is it when we are being abused, our first instinct is to hurt ourselves as if we deserve it?

It doesnt make sense does it?? i think most of us need to realise this... our first instinct maybe to hurt ourselves, but thats not the answer... it maybe the easiest way out of the pain caused by others, so we just take the easy route. Or maybe it is because we are more ashamed of the pain caused by others then we are of the pain caused by ourselves, so we turn it around so it is us who are causing our own pain I know how ur feeling hun, please dont think too negatively, because if you really really think hard enough, anything can be made more positive. take care babyg xXx
