I totally understand needing to SI to stay in reality.
Yesterday when I left T, I was not grounded and didn't feel like I could drive and knew if I could just SI I would feel better. But it felt disrespectful to do it right outside of T's office. I tried some other things to get grounded - sat on the curb in the sun, walked around a little, tried to notice the things around me in the car, and finally, I called a friend and she talked to me about really normal everyday stuff (like what she was eating for lunch) and finally I started to get grounded - and didn't have to SI. Is there anything else you can try that helps you get grounded? Coloring works for me sometimes, talking to someone, going outside.... ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Here is my latest trick. Drink some hot cocoa that is not hot nough to burn you but hot enough to feel it as you drink it.

minime's idea is good! actually some scientific research has been made that chocolate makes you feel better (i think it's because it releases endorphins or some other thing that has a fine name). glad you have lights and are not SIing. i know it's sometimes the only thing that makes you feel real - but you know, you could try coming here and writing whatever you have in your mind. then we reply and you will see that you, indeed, are real! =)
