1. Acknowledge that it is a problem
you maybe hurting on the inside and need professional help

2. Realize that it is not about you being a bad person
it is recognizing that your behavior of coping with your feeling has become a problem

3. Find one person you trust and get professional help

4. Get help identifying what triggers you to injure yourself.
Ask for help in developing ways to avoid or address those triggers.

5. Recognize that self injury is an attempt to self soothe.
learn how to develop better ways to calm and soothe yourself

6. Figure out what function the self injury is serving
replace the act of self harm wit learning how to express anger, sadness, fear etc in healthy ways.
