I find myself more agitated by disruptions than I used to be. I feel fine and rarely stressed as long as I can stick to my normal routine. It seems that any deviation causes some stress, not necessarily bad events, but things like unexpected visitors, unplanned trip, I guess mostly things I have not had time to mentally prepare for. I'm not really depressed, just feel out of sorts.

Does any one else experience this feeling?

Sounds like your resilience is depleted. It could be physical resilience or perhaps mental resilience. I would guess you have a lifetime of experience and knowledge that you could perhaps dip into to find strategies to manage disruption?

I'm the same way. I don't even want phone call or anyone knocking on my door. I love email for that reason, I can answer it when I'm ready to deal with it.

I feel the same way, except I can manage it better when I'm not feeling depressed. And I do have a lot of depression, but even when I'm stable I still have trouble dealing with disruptions. One little deviation can throw my entire day. You are not alone.

Me either, just a land line and wireless for the computer. Lots of time I don't answer the phone or the door. Nobody visits me except people who are selling something. The SW comes by every week weeks but that's preplanned so I know who it is. She, the SW want me to meet her outside next time. Go somewhere a park, a coffee shop....I'm thinking about it.

I have trouble if my work routine is disrupted, especially if coworkers are also stressing and snapping. Triggers frantic under my breath ranting, usually about hating my life and never wanting to come back. Doesn't happen at home, but then no one ever comes here.

I hope you can go out to meet her.

@Iowa: I think the mumbling is letting off steam and may seem negative but relieves the pressure, so is good, maybe?

I don't have any trouble going places, but it seems better if I have my mental shinola together if I do. I don't know if it's my age or progression of my MI. Maybe I'm just becoming and old cat lady without the cats.

I think old cat ladies are much maligned. Usually they are nicer than old curmudgeons.

Me, too. I think it is simply an aging thing. Just as your body isn't a flexible and responsive as it used to be, I think the same thing happens with the mind ... normal but not necessarily enjoyable aging stuff. Maybe gentle acceptance in the answer.
