Hi all, my name is BettyA and I was so happy to see the word "Senior" on this site!
I am wondering if I am the Methusala of the group? I just turned 79 last week. Funny about life. Mine has always been good yet challenging. Its only in the last 3 years that I suffered from emotional problems PTSD due to a fire in my apt. house... Took me over 2 years to talk to a Dr about it. And he started trying out different meds after saying I had both anxiety/depression... Finally started seeing a therapist (she is SO helpful) 4 months ago. Depression is the worst. Recently was in Emergency and diagnosed with Hyponatremia (very low sodium levels) and its very hard recovering some due, I'm sure due to the Depression. Have any of you been sick with low sodium levels...really sick? Anyway, I'm happy to be here and wish you all well. Take care.
BettyA

Hello, and welcome, BettyA! I guess I'm one of the youngest in this forum. I'm 58 but my body feels much older, and my mind feels much younger. Maybe they cancel each other out lol.
Thanks for this!

Hello Betty, and welcome! Have you tried eating plenty of bananas to keep your sodium levels up? I always make sure I have one for breakfast.
Thanks for this!

63 years old here. I think farm life & the beautiful relaxing horse back riding in the country is keeping me young. Just trying to keep injuries to a minimum. After bailing off a horse that spooked & ending up with a compression fracture in my lower back has slowed me down a bit but no one but me knows that. I take ballroom dance lessons 2 nights a week advanced class is awesome. I ride (not as much as I will when I finally get my horse here from Calif. I try to keep my fields mowed though a little lawn tractor doesnt always do the job like a real tractor & bush hog does. I do a lit of farm sitting & last year gave 3 months to intense care of 3 rescued stallions thar had been starved....it was a county legal case.

Im kinda thinking that being in good shape now has something to do with my 1 hour lunch racquetball games with the guys I worked with in the computer engineering company. They were great even back in those days they treated me as an equal engineer & an equal on the racquetball court. All that aerobic exercise when I was young Im sure helped me survive those depression years with all the abuse I put my body through from OD'S to serious anorexia. Surprised Im as healthy & strong as I am at this age ....the knee reconstruction from a racquetball ACL injury, a fractured hip from a fall off a horse then the compression fracture of my back from another horse accident, i can feel some arthritis settling in. I just bought a rebound trampoline to try to build up & keep the arthritis & the blood pressure down after regaining to a healthy weight. My brain just doesnt think as old as my body is so I just keep pushing it.
