My sons have moved across the country from me. I am all alone now. I have some friends but no relatives here and my children were my whole life. They are late 20s and are embarking on their exciting lives. I am very happy for them but I am very sad for myself. As holidays are coming up and I will be here alone .
Is anyone in my shoes? It's a terrible feeling. |

Hello, Murphysgirl, and welcome to Psych Central! I still have my husband and try to have a life without my sons. They live several states away. I join social groups, read, watch certain TV shows, come here to PC to visit, help, and play games, etc.
It's especially hard when you wrapped your life around them and now they're far away. But you can write and call them sometimes. (But be careful not too often!) What are some things you'd like to do? Travel, for instance? Join social groups here, get to know new people, join groups in real life, etc. You can do it! There are other ladies in your same boat. I see you live in Florida, so I'd think there are some other ladies around your age and in your situation. Some more of them here might respond, too! Where do your sons live? Mine are in Illinois and Indiana. A new friend, Trav ![]() ![]() |
