I'm intrigued with young folks who don't know how to "be an adult" these days. There are even courses that teach such things. I've mainly been on the learn as you go plan. But I did buy my twenty-something sons books on how to do things such as build a fire and change a tire.

Now I want to learn how to play poker. Is that silly of me? What would you like to learn, that's an adult thing?

There probably aren't any adult things I want to learn. Lately I've been fantasizing about carrying a teddy bear around & sucking my thumb. (Seriously)

I use google for doing things that need to be done or watch a youtube video.

I also use those to help me find some relief from challenges I face like this one

It seems that my Millennium children are more "adult" than I am. They are both successful, and my daughter quite snottily informed me a while back that I need to wake up and "adult." *sigh*

I’ve always wanted to learn how to play bridge. I’d settle for poker, though. Sounds more fun.

I got 3 clubs an ace and a spade. I'll keep the ace and take 4 please.

I grew up playing card games, poker doesn't seem very adult to me. But getting up at the crack of dawn and doing what needs doing without a lot of drama is adulting in my world.

Oo one pair! I bid a blue chip.

Anyone want a Shirley Temple cocktail? We always drank them when we played games. I still prefer them to adult versions. * passes the corn chips *

I seriously stress that I can’t work the remotes and need others in the house to help me.

Four of a kind--all aces! (Trav rakes in the money in the middle of the table.)

Skeez, if you want a teddy bear, then why not?

I wish I could learn how to grow a garden--of veggies. It would have to be very small.

Yes, I could google about things.

I have to have my husband write instructions to me for how to work some of the gadgets around our house.

He and I both need to read the manual and figure out to work this fancy Instapot we bought--and is now gathering dust.

Don’t even make me try to work the A/C that is connected to the internet and the Ring doorbell! (Although, I actually bribed the refrigerator repair man to install the doorbell! Very resourceful of me. )

Trav looks to the other players and asks, "What do I do with these two cards?"

Well first ya gotta buy in, that means putting a chip in the pot. What's next depends on the dealer. Face up or face down, ya gotta decide if ya want to keep going.

Can Trav look at her cards first before deciding to put in a chip?

I remember my elderly grandmother saying she was "going to learn how to run a car." She'd never learned to drive--like a number of women years ago.

I'd like to learn how to "run" a drone. Are they allowed to just hover over a neighborhood and check things out?
