Spending the day on the lake with my cousins. Practicing tipping the canoe over, emptying it out and getting back in from on the water. Playing board games on the dock. Swimming competitions to the island and back.

There was a big tree we used to climb, which we just called "the tree". As in, "where is itsgettinglate? Oh, he's at the tree."
We'd climb as high as we could in the tree and sometimes pop our head out of the top, swaying with the breeze. My parents died never knowing how often I fell out of that tree And baseball cards. We called them flips (mid 60s) and we'd basically gamble the cards at recess at school. One game was match, which meant the first kid flipped a card and the second had to match it, either face up or face down. Or touch, which meant the card had to land on the other. Cards were about a penny a piece new then, but the cards I won seemed priceless. |

Speaking of cards, how about clipping them to the spokes of your bike to make noise.
Handlebar streamers. Cutting out paper snowflakes. Ironing autumn leaves between two sheets of waxed paper |

My great aunt and uncle use to have a cabin in the woods, and there was a path thru overhanging trees that was all most like a carpet. Magical.
I’m actually making a moss garden!i love it! Giant sunflowers. Letting the heads dry out for the birds in winter I feel like a hug |

Okay, here you go, Wing!
Getting banana ice cream bars while my mom had her car serviced at the garage (They aren't made any more. ) Watching Santa land in the parking lot of the Sears store (I can't remember if he came down from a helicopter or what.) I'll have to ask my sis if she remembers. |
