I learned long ago that many supplements we buy OTC don't have the catalist in them to make them absorbe into out body so they just go right through without any benefit. Lol....I am too lazy to figure out what each supplement needs to make it work & that would just make it way too expensive. I have just gotten to the point where my healthy mostly farm fresh foods will just have to do & all the herbs & spices I use for seasoning. I take an allergy med when I can't stop sneezing use organic mullein tea when I have congestion, a good vit C until that runs out & at 70, just not taking anything to mess up my body otherwise. Lol....my retired PA & my other retired pharmacist friends think oh my gosh at all the horrible reactions I have & really don't understand why I totally avoid medical MD'S & find natural care specialists who know all the things that work together to make supplements work in the body.

The Worst Shoes for Your Feet
I never wore high heels. Men design women's shoes and even looking at lots of those shoes, I can tell they're not healthy to wear. |

The problem returned years later and I went through it again. I've been okay since. I'm not surprised men invented them. They make our legs look better. They also invented the bra and probably corsets and girdles. Seems a symbolic way to restrict women. Now I couldn't walk in them at all. Comfort is the most important thing to me now, not with just shoes but clothes too. I have just one pair of low heel pumps for any fancy occasion which unfortunately hasn't happened. __________________ Call me "owl" for short! Hmmm....looks like some good tips in here. Lol....I never wore shoes that weren't comfortable. I was never into "looks". Too active in sports & outdoor activities. Maybe a blessing in disguise.
HOWEVER....I can tell you that 4 years after my horse stepped on my foot there is still an uncomfortable feeling. My foot got swollen & black & blue but nothing broken. No pain but probably some nerve damage in the ball of my foot & a few of my middle toes. Yep, she had never seen cows before she arrived on my farm & she was worried about them when I was holding her for the ferrier. Even good boots didn't protect my foot when she stood on it. __________________ Leo's favorite place was in the passenger seat of my truck. We went everywhere together like this. I use arnica gel on all major bruises. Smacked my shin on my dishwasher door & had a huge lump on it. Put the arnica gel on it & I could actually watch the swelling of the lump come down. That was so strange to see. I don't take any meds so no interactions but I have such bad reactions to so many things & stay away from many natural things too.
Used Mullein tea for congestion & xylitol for a sore throat. I would never use stinging nettle because I got into it in a field behind my farm a few years ago on the back of my hand & by the end of the day my whole hand & arm were swollen like a balloon. I have so many bad reactions to things I am the kind of person who stays away from everything & just tries to let my own body do its thing & just try to eat good __________________ Leo's favorite place was in the passenger seat of my truck. Pain Meds: Side Effects No One Tells You About
Everything has side effects, it seems. I have to take opiates, else I can't sleep and I'd cry all the the time due to pain. My spinal cord is being pressed by bone damage. I see a spine surgeon in March. Sigh. I'm not supposed to take NSAIDS. My gastro doctor specifically told me that. But I've just had to take some because my pain has been so bad. But I can tell the lining of my stomach has been damaged. |

Oh, I feel for you. I had lower spine misalignment that was crushing my spinal cord. Caused all kinds of problems that were fixed with the surgery. Before that though I was on fentanyl, and other opioids. I had such nausea that I loss weight and was constipated all the time. I was able to quit the narcotics after my surgery but I now suffer from gastrointestinal problems that I’m sure is from long term side effects of the medication. I know the meds gave me some relief but not enough, it took the surgery to do that.

I just got a flyer about home remedies for seniors. I think I'm going to get the book from ebay. It recommends chocolate for several conditions. Hey, that works for me!
