I used to get Happy Meals at McDonald's all the time, but I don't know if they still do it, plus I don't eat junk like that anymore, LOL. And I doubt if you eat it too. I also used to like to collect the toys that came with them.

Some places won't let you get a kid's meal unless you have a kid with you. Really I don't know why since you're paying for it regardless. Why should they care if an adult eats it?

Years ago I was at some place that wouldn't let me order a kid's meal cause I was "too old". Ha Ha. I'm decades older now.

I've ordered kids' meals sometimes in the past. I think anyone should be able to buy them.

I eat the skin of most fruits/veggies I like, except for oranges (too bitter) and watermelon (which I haven't had in years since one melon is too much for one person. I never ate the rinds though)

I like bananas but never ate the skin. I see now I'm "supposed" to or "should" but I don't since it's so thick and hard to chew.

Pretty much I eat what I want, how I want. Food won't be enjoyable anymore if I listen to what the experts say. I'm sure most people don't eat the recommended servings of fruits/veggies a day.

Also, they are getting so damn expensive. The drought here in the West has affected produce prices, I've noticed.

Drinking This Once a Day Can Triple Your Stroke Risk, Study Finds

I don't know about this finding. Did they take weight into account? I'd bet more overweight people drink diet soda.

I stopped drinking soda in general years ago, though I could never stand diet soda. It has a nasty aftertaste from those fake sweeteners they use. Ugh!

Although I stopped the soda, I still have other unhealthy habits like chocolate which only got worse during 2020 and continues this year, as this COVID thing continues.

Interesting to know. I've been very tired and had some pain and vomiting, so I took a COVID test and am waiting for the results.

Before I moved in with her mum often talked of her fear of dying and no one knowing and was hospitalized 2-3 times a year in the 5 years before I moved in. Then I moved in 5 years ago and she’s only beeen hospitalized once. She’s 93.

Amen to that. It's not easy to make and keep friends when you're older and long out of school. I've been trying for years and years and have so little support. So now they say I'm going to die sooner. That's not a bad thing, in my opinion, for me. No more struggling with trying to build a support system and with how hard and unequal life in the U.S. has become, even before COVID.

At least in death, it wouldn't be THIS world. And I'd like to believe I'll see the ones I lost then.

My building lacks a "neighborly vibe", and it got worse after COVID for some reason. People don't check on anyone, and they are not friendly. Nobody would notice if they haven't seen me in days, but they'd notice the smell of my rotting corpse I'm sure.

I hate the U.S. and it's individualistic culture. You're expected to rely on your own friends, family, and resources. Forget the government's help. You're screwed if you don't have a support system.

Gosh it feels good to vent on PC about these things.

I have to admit my building in Texas was pretty friendly. The management knew all those who were alone. But the last year all the friendly people moved on and we’re replaced with not so friendly people.

I've heard the south in general is more friendly than the rest of the country? You know that Southern Hospitality?

I think there's something wrong with the people who move here. Or maybe there's demonic energy over this building, LOL. I sometimes DO smell sulfur in my kitchen sink drain after the water is turned on, after being off awhile. And according to horror shows like Supernatural, sulfur is a sign of demons present.

Lol. The apartment I lived in was a low income apartment. You had to meet a certain income but couldn’t go over a certain income either. I was on section 8 so I didn’t have to meet the income but most people living their were the working poor. I lived in a one and two bedroom building and further down were the three and four bedrooms. So thankfully the kids were at the other end.

I'm trying to reach out more to my neighbors now. The neighborhood also has a web site where people can talk about issues of concern here.

Our neighborhood also has a web site but we’ve not joined it. The neighbors across the street are in their 50’s I think and looked in on the neighbor man next door to them when he started having trouble mowing his lawn. Then one day they found him dead. Mum’s next door neighbor used to check in with her before I moved in. But the neighbors have changed a lot in the past 5 years. Now there’s about 5 new families with young children. It’s changed the whole vibe.
