Taking supplements?

What to Know Before You Take Herbal Supplements

I do take a multivitamin, Vitamin D3, Vitamin K, fish oil, Glucosine (whatever it's called for joint health), and have taken ginger for nausea.

I tried St. John's Wort years ago for depression and it didn't help.

What do you take? Does it help?

Can a New Memory Pill Save Your Brain?

I'd love to find something to perk up my pitiful brain....

There was an interesting article in this month's Reader's Digest about Vitamin D. It talked about how important it is, and how we might be avoiding the sun too much. It even mentioned that certain diseases are more likely in people with low levels--including coronavirus.

So it's out to sit on my back porch as soon as it stops raining!

I take all the B vitamins, D, krill oil (doesn’t taste as bad and smaller capsules than fish oil) and melatonin.

I read the same thing about vitamin D. A little sun boosts mood! Maybe it’s the vitamin D.

Mum had an appointment today with a pharmacist. They went over all her meds, prescription and OTC and made changes. Because of her age(94) she is to take less Tylenol than she was, stopped another OTC and switched her to a different blood thinner. Because I go to the same clinic I could do that too but right now I'm in the middle of getting tests. I'm on about 15 pills total. 9 prescription and my doctor knows all of my OTC Supliments.

Where I give blood told me that my hemoglobin was too low twice in a row. I bought iron pills but didn't start taking them. My doctor was glad and told me not to take them until they found the cause and told me I'm anemic. So just a cautious reminder to let your doctor know before you start herbs or Supliments on your own.

My doc approves of all of my supplements or even prescribed them for me. But, yes, we shouldn't just take them wily nily.

Reminds me of a tennis match in Australia I saw on TV. The entire audience, and I mean everyone, had a hat on and it was hilarious watching all the hats turn as the ball went back and forth.

I agree! My daughter always avoided the sun. Always. If she absolutely had to be in the sun she would cover herself up. It's true that she does have gorgeous skin, flawless. But...

a few years ago, she told me that she was feeling very unwell. Terribly low energy, nausea, and her hair, which is extremely thick, was falling out. She was concerned and so was I. Well, she went to her GP and the doctor tested her for this and that. Eventually my daughter found out that her vitamin D level was so low that her GP was considering hospitalizing her.

N. was prescribed a large daily dose of vitamin D and instructed to sit in the sun every day at 10 a.m., for 10 minutes. She followed the instructions and her health improved within a month.

I was a '70's sun worshiper, burned and tanned all summer, every summer. That worries me, now. But I believe there's a happy medium. Never exposing ourselves to the sun cannot possibly be healthy.

Two alcoholic drinks a day may slow mental decline, study finds

I wonder if grape juice has the same effects. I don't like alcohol, plus I can't drink because of the meds I take.

Hairdressers reopen this week, but should you actually stay grey?

I chose to go gray a number of years ago. And actually I still have some brown hair, even though I'm 65. I don't like the chemicals used in parlors to dye hair and I am too lazy to use those rinses. I'm earned every gray hair and I'm showing them off!

Anybody order kid's meals where you can? The portions are smaller, and that's what I need.
