Younger Generations Are Calling Out The Most "Toxic" Things Older Generations Do, And It's Absolutely Brutal

Sigh.

I'm not sure what letter of generation I am. I was told boomers are a large group, born from 1946 to 1964. Then I heard that group is divided into 2 subgroups, those born 1946-1954 and 1955-1964. (I think the second is called Jonesers?) Aren't we divided enough?? I hate all these letters, X, Y, Z. Just say what year or decade you're born. It's mentioned in another thread, which I can't find now. Supposedly the range can vary, but I've seen it refer to 1965-1980, those after Boomers but before Millennials which are Y I think.

Are they going to start all over with A, since we're at Z now?

I was born in 61, and I bet there's toxic things WE can call THEM out on too. "Just go online or use the app." "Just stream it." "Update your app."

Oh wahhh 😭 let’s call every critical observation and opinion toxic and divide the country more.

My list would be longer than theirs.

But I will say this: Their addictions to their phone is worse than a heroin addict. They won't even look up while walking or crossing the street--they can't look away from their phones.

I'd bang my head but I'll crack my skull this time, since I'm doing that so much....

One thing I can't resist saying about the younger generation: I wish they'd get those white mics out of their ears so I don't have to repeat everything 2 or 3 times, and put them somewhere else.

I'm glad someone responded that they appreciate the boomers' work ethic. I've seen those kids who won't sweat, work hard, etc. I'm afraid some of us parents have been too lenient on our children because we had to work so hard.

I think some younger people are now realizing that being an adult is not that easy, especially when you can't rely on your parents to bail you out.

I think the generation that worked the hardest was mum’s generation. The silent or greatest generation. They lived though the Great Depression.

Sorry Trav and Nammu. Love you guys but disagree. I got sick of hearing how they are the Greatest and all about the Depression from my parents. It’s like the rest of are chopped liver or something. As much I can criticize the younger generation, every generation has challenges the previous one didn’t.

Young people today were expected to do online lessons, during lockdowns, when not all kids have such technology. And given the state of our democracy and economy, I fear what kind of world they are facing, in spite of their hard work. And by the time they are our age, the planet could be in ruins.

Hey I worked hard even though I didn’t live through a Depression. Their generation had benefits we don’t and they got good pensions. Not anymore. Working hard doesn’t mean you get ahead anymore. It doesn’t mean the American Dream is within reach. There’s a lot of hardworking people out there who can’t get ahead or make ends meet.

Back to young people…the two high school girls running the book club at stupid senior center cancelled at the literal last minute. We didn’t find out till we get all the way there. It was cold outside too. And it was already postponed from last week cause of stupid holidays. And I was eager to hear what people thought of the book.

When I was a young adult and just starting to venture out into the world of work, where I lived, you basically had to "know someone" to get a job. Nowadays, at least where I live now, there are job openings everywhere. Employers can't find enough people to fill all of their available positions. I find it amazing!

Yeah kids I knew in hs who worked jot their jobs though their parents.

Anyone else here who watches Colbert? I bought one of the, is potato 🥔, mugs. It’s for a good cause and is potato, makes me laugh because of all his jokes. I put this here because I heard only “older” folks watch Colbert..

No, never had a game system. Though when I had a computer I had loads of games and puzzles. It was just me against the computer and no need to hear. I loved those games. I can’t figure out the more complicated movements by iPad though I do play mahjong and solitaire games on my iPad.

I have to say it’s mostly accurate. The wash board and can opener and a couple of other things were in the garage as they were outdated. They forgot the hula hoop and a plastic flying saucer shaped sled.

Sigh....I still have some of these things, as they are still useful. Corningware is durable and versatile, I don't know why they always have to keep writing lists of stuff that's "outdated". If it's useful it's not out of date for me. I still write things down on paper, it doesn't run a battery down. I hate this "nobody has" crap.
Have they talked to ME? And who are they anyway to guarantee things???
