how do people deal with this?
when I was younger, (I mean kid young), my memory was exilent- so much so I could remember entire blocks of information for hours few years down the line, I got my mental health diagnoses and the medications played with my memory, making it weaker and weaker now, age is playing with it too, and I feel like my memory is.. well, not even half of what it was. I try to be patient with it, but being patient is not a strong point of mine and I do quite often shouting at myself.. like come on em, you do remember this then I don't remember, and I just stand there crying. it's happening daily now and, well I just wonder how you all cope- and also what your memories were like when you were younger I think because I had such a sharp memory, and now I don't, it's affecting me more because I'm not ready to lose it |

@emily1890 I am sorry you do not feel your memory is as sharp as it used to be. None of us do.
There are many causes for memory dysfunction. When I sleep to much or am depressed or eat a log of carbs or iwhen I used to do intoxicants, my brain access went down hill. The memories are still there but accessing them is getting to be more difficult. Things that help me: exercise high protein low carb diet, puzzles, watching puzzle question shows like Wheel of Fortune or Jeopardy, reading, and walking. My memory is definitely not good now, at age 69. I blame the drugs I'm prescribed as well as aging. The main thing is to be nice and patient with ourselves. It is frustrating, but most of us older people have memory issues.
