I became addicted to watching porn. It started five years ago. It begin with me just being curious before it had turn into just a way to deal with what had happen to me and then into a way for me to feel protected. At that time I was unaware that it was illegal for me to watch a porn site nor did I know that it had it cause viruses on everything that I used electronically. By that time it was controlling my life. I couldn't go in hour and it wasn't until I had read something about the addiction from someone else who had experience what I had experience. I realize that I now have a problem. I been sober for six month now. I still slip up and want to go back to my old habit but I hadn't watching anything in almost six month going on seven month.

You can kick the addiction just keep doing what you are doing.

I agree with Guiness. It sounds like you're working hard at it already and seeing progress. Good for you. We all have setbacks. Just keep trying and getting back on the horse.

When quitting smoking i turned more to porn as a way to forget my cravings. I started getting off 6+ times a day using cam sites which quickly suck up a great deal of money from my bank account. I have managed to get down to two times a day and blocked my favorite sites. This has helped my relationships tremendously.

Unfortunately, porn addiction is real. I want to challenge you and anyone reading this. What are you doing to not look at porn??

For me, I am hoping DBT skills will be helpful. I know it will be helpful!!

Also like SAA, good healthy coping skills and habits help to make the time go faster. And they help emotional as well!!

Maybe I should look for something else that could replace my addiction.

I try to mediated watch other things. I leave the room without my phone. I never thought about using DBT skills. Maybe I should try. I went six month without watching and mess up when I first got a new phone that work.

I used to like porn. I find it so fake now, and it takes away the sensuality in real sex. Not to mention all the diseases these women must get from their careers, that few people know about.

That's the other issue. Any addiction NEVER goes away. Every day one has to consider all the positive coping skills. A schedule for the first year can help, but don't forget that it, any addiction, will lerk around the corner, just waiting for us to forget, become complacent, and not focus on our recovery, just to trip us up and get is back in addition.

Once an addict, always an addict, but one can become smart ***** and out smart the addiction!!

I had survived an attempted raped six year ago. I turn to porn as way to deal with what had happen to me in attempt to protected myself from what had happen. Since I couldn't find any kind of help. Everyone who I had turn to had either threaten to contact the police or threaten to call adult social services because I had asked for some help.

I try to meditated and I try not to watch anything that has a lot of sex in it because it can trigger me either into watching or what had happen to me. I try to listen to music. I still slip up sometime. It just not as bad as it was when I first started to quit the addiction.
