You're talking about bestiality, also known as zoophilia. I personally do think it's wrong and a sickness. I think it's much like pedophilia, in that some people who engage in this behavior think they're expressing love for the object of their affections; however, there are others who simply don't care, desire sex with the person/animal, and don't care if they're hurting him/her/it.

There's a documentary called "Zoo," about a man who had sex with a horse, and the horse presumably kicked him and killed him. There are zoophiles who speak in the documentary.

Going by what I have read--and I'm not stating this as fact, because I don't know that it is--it's quite common for farmers to have sex with their animals; I'm not saying most do, but I'm not saying most don't, either. It seems a lot do, but again, I don't know what the truth of the matter is.

A long time ago, I got into an argument (others who find bestiality offensive participated in this argument) with a guy online who joined a chat group I was part of who said he had sex with his horse, and defended it and said there were many like him. Of this, I have no doubt; just as there are many pedophiles and ephebophiles, there are many zoophiles. They aren't open about who they are, so we don't see the true numbers. But they find each other and join groups. They protect each other.

I consider it animal cruelty, because, like a child, an animal can't consent. Even if the animal shows sexual arousal, it's like with a child, who can't understand the consequences of the actions, and we can't know that an animal isn't left confused or unsure. Some animals can be harmed physically, as well. I've heard of people who have sex with chickens, and the penis rips the chickens' butt holes, and they bleed to death.

From what I have read on this practice the people that take part of this type of sexuality is usually lacking emotional connection with mankind, therefore, they connect with and some times engage in sex with animals.... the animal takes the place that should naturally of been deemed for another person.

I would advice that the person in question seek some counseling for their deeper emotional issues.
Please note that this person is not sick, perverted, or gross..... but rather WOUNDED.

I have not personally done this but where I work part time I see many women men and children that have been sexually abused and in turn act out their abuses upon the animals. its actually quite common for children and in some cases adults who have been abused sexually to act out what has sexually happened to them with their dolls, stuffed animals, other toys, their peers, pets, stray animals, family and friends animals and upon their selves. the courage to heal book has at least one story by a survivor who acted out her abuse upon a kitten. As does many other books by survivors of abuse. In the book When Rabbit Howls Trudy Chase was forced into acting out sex acts with animals or the animals were killed right in front of her.

So I know its out there but whether or not people here will be comfortable disclosing that is an aspect of their abuse history may not happen because of the stigma surrounding it. I dont consider it gross, sick discusting and down right wrong. I just consider the source of how they learned it and hope they are learning new ways of coping with their sexual urges so that they dont have to live in fear of what everyone will think, whether or not its morally right or wrong, whether or not their culture considers it a crime and so that they know they are safe now and do not need to perpetrate the crimes of their youth upon their self, others and animals.

I’m sorry I’m not that generous and understanding. Just because you have impulses don’t mean you should act upon them.

i dont think you are wrong, disgusting or gross if you are just having thoughts like this. the very fact that you are questioning it shows that a part of you is ambivalent about it anyway. a lot of ppl have sexual thoughts that they would never act upon, but those thoughts can cause them a lot of distress. if this applies to you, i would seek out a therapist to gain an understanding of how to just accept those thoughts and let them go without beating yourself up about it.

if this, on the other hand, is reflecting a desire... again, i'd say that you don't need to act on desires. i don't think bestiality is right or morally permissible. if you have engaged in something like that before, i would encourage you to stop and seek out support so you don't do it again.

i think that a lot of shame can revolve around issues like this (all sexual matters, really) but i know a lot of therapists are competent in being able to help people in a non-judgemental manner. you won't be vilified for having these thoughts or for having acted on them in the past, but i doubt very much (and hope!) that no one here will respond in a way that encourages you to act on them/continue acting on them.

I think the main reason that people are fascinated by this topic is that it is so very very taboo.
