hi! I'm feeling real good with my libido high. Last night i had sex for ages it was really good, guy spent ages on fore play . I had multiple orgasms and today i'm in a state of constant arousal. Think i'l have to have a self love with myself. does anyone know what this is and why its happening.

btw i didn't post this so i could brag about my sex life. Trust me its not usually good. I posted this because i want to know what is causing the costant feelings of arousal. I'm not having sex but the feelings are still there it wont go away. I'm adjusting to a lot of different feelings about sex because i've been on zoloft so long and you can't feel much at all sexually when your on that. I'v been off zoloft for 2 months. . . Any posts would help. This feels really abnormal.

hmmm thinking it could be the affects of coming off the zoloft but for me sometimes I just go thru times of wanting it more than normal. like when depression eases up or is gone for awhile.

I was on such a high dosage of Paxil, I had NO sex drive. Now that I have lowered it and begun Adderall, I HAS gone up. But for me, sex is tightly interwound with emotion. My husband and I have issues, so I really don't get "in the mood" because I am constantly walking on eggshells. So really, much hasn't changed. (And I am not interested in sex with anyone else.)

Good for you though! I hope you can still manage your depression off of the medication!

i'm actually on effexor xr now. Which is meant to lower libido and ability to orgasm. It however has raised my libido and I also had multiple orgasms. The arousal is still there almost 2 days later, is it normal ? What causing this? Its weird.

Some people react meds in the opposite way than most others do. Just enjoy it!

so you think its the meds that is making the arousal not go away. Usually after sex the arousal goes away within an hour or 2. Its been 2 days and i'm still aroused from it.

No, I'd love to be aroused much of the time (not all the time), as long as it wasn't a case of PGAD (Persistent Genital Arousal Disorder), which can be painful.

I can't say that I go into a state of constant arousal but when I do allow myself to engage I do set off a reaction where my body awakens and kind of realizes what its been missing. My H has some physical limitations and its hard for me to allow myself to go down this road.

It could be a possible reaction with the medications you're taking and depending on how long it's been since you've had sex, if it was amazing and you haven't had it for a long time, then you could be relishing upon it and having the pleasurable feelings being elicited. It could be due to stimulation from parts of the frontal and pre-frontal cortex, nucleus accumbens and rest of of the DA, 5-HT and other systems. When you think about the recent event (which would've caused all those areas plus others to be activated a lot), then they would be activated while you think of them (consciously or subconsciously) to produce the effects.

A more psychological explanation could be that if you're usually feeling somewhat down then having this great sexual experience could have temporarily shattered the depression and is causing the euphoric-like high because an urge that hasn't been met for a while was finally met exceptionally well.

I never thought I'd be saying this...especially with my history of meds killing my sex drive.

Since increasing the Adderall, I get aroused quite a bit. Never had that happen that much since my first boyfriend! I can actually relate to it getting annoying...

Unfortunately, husband and I are still dealing with some pretty intense issues, and while I have no interest in anyone else, I am not interested in sex with him either.
