I've been noticing this a lot here lately with the media about how a lot of commercials seem to give the impression that "everyone" is having sex but YOU. Hell, not only that, but you talk to friends and they'll sometimes talk about their latest "conquests" in the bedroom (which, most of the time, aren't true) and their stories about how much of a sexual dynamo they are (my gag reflex just kicked in).

It's pathetic, in a sense, to think that "everyone" is having sex but you but it's true that some people think like that. It's a sad, sad part of life that people experience. People at my age group (13-21) are at risk for these kind of negative sexual messages to sink in. Sometimes even I think that everyone is having sex but me. It's a feeling that I can't shake off, even if the statistics are right in front of me.

This could also work for people who think that everyone has a boyfriend/girlfriend except you (e.g. me ). There is something about you that men/women don't like you for, so buy so-and-so product TODAY! Really, I think all of this negative sexual messages is just to make people buy a specific product. It's a stragedy that attacks you while you're down and it just keeps kicking and kicking you until you give. Take the most common example: penis enlargement pills/creams/whatever. This product isn't really something that can help with that, it's just a cheap scam to try to swindle some quick cash from a weak and unsuspecting victim. It's just a product that doesn't work and it attacks the weakness of any man: his ability to perform. A man's greatest treasure that makes him proud is also his greatest weakness that makes him insecure (made that up myself ).

If it's too good to be true, it usually is. That's usually the rule of thumb in any business situation.

Anyway, enough about product sales. Basically, it's a part of life that we're going to have to experience at some point of our lives. It's sad. It's terrible. We must go through it. If we make it, we can get on with our lives and we can be happy about it. Love and sex will happen with time because any higher being watching us knows when it's the right time.
We just have to be patient and wait for the right time.

They're just trying to send those messages to you in hopes that you're in a weak position that you would want to use their product.

Those dumb commercials are really horrid, and I'm tired of the spam too!!!

From personal contact (talking) to individuals regarding these issues; I know that most people are NOT having relationships (single people)---It's annoying to see this stuff on tv------so what? I don't have a man?!!!!---Big Deal!!!--it's my choice.

Thanks for the thread

Yes since I have children I really dislike those commercials that are on mid afternoon and early evening. We don't even have satellite or cable - this is regular TV. I don't think they need to advertise Viagra - I mean everyone knows about it. Another one that bugs me is the dual lubrication gel(for him and her) where it shows them in bed and the firewoks then a dazed looking couple.

From my 12 yr olds view point - all the kids talk about at school is - who's going with who and who likes who - so annoying.
