Okay, this is going to sound ridiculous but I have to ask this question somewhere because it's driving me mad...... I'm 32 and married so you'd think that I wouldn't even care about this but...

what is the big deal about a woman with a large butt/hips? what is the attraction to men? what goes through a man's mind when he sees it? I really need to know this. Can anyone shed some light?

Hello there,

I'm an 18 year old woman but I'm also a bisexual, so I thought maybe I could answer this too. I believe that a woman with a large-ish butt and wider hips can be very sexy because of the shape it gives the woman...the hourglass type of figure can be very attractive!

That being said, I also find that a woman with a slim figure can be attractive as well. I'm not limited to finding just one body type good looking.
Thanks for this!

I think it all began with the sub-conscious beliefs rooted with picking a woman who's perceived as better child bearers . I think the music industry also fuels the notion as well with lyrics like "I like big butts and I cannot lie", "babies got a booty like pow, pow, pow". I think it's appealing for guys to have some something to hang on too and visually appealing during sex. A slim woman can also work on getting a rounded butt by doing lunges and other butt enhancing exercises.

Not to hijack the thread or anything... but Lynn, why do you know those lyrics?! Lol! It made me smile :-D

Also, I just want to say that I agree with everything Lynn said, but also to remember that not all guys are the same with what they want. I'd be very lonely if no one liked us little hipped/small butt girls! But luckily for me, I found a boy who prefers me just the way I am, little hips, little bum, and little bosom And I find that most of my friends that are guys have the same preferences, so it's each to their own.

But, yeah, Chipmunkgal, I ask questions like that all time, so you're not alone there.
Thanks for this!

LOL I know those lyrics because I have a 13 yr old daughter who loves modern music and the radio station we listen to in the car play the songs we like and occasionally that latter one I mentioned "babies got a booty like pow, pow, pow "lol. I do make the effort to say "well you know that's not the best way to refer to a lady" and then we go back to singing to the song...he, hee. The songs might be chauvanistic but even I like the tune.

I was very skinny when I was a teenager, I barely had a butt lol. Then I put a little weight on and finally got a butt lol. I'm perfectly happy with my butt now lol. I agree not all men want a 'big butt' and if they're to big they have to think about how they might expand years down the road lol

I am 34 and I have had many conversations with many guys over my butt, and they say that it just looks like a big juicy apple. I think they are all pigs. It's a penis thing, same with big boobs... It makes me a little perturbed.
Thanks for this!

I just had to add my opinion or thought. My husband and I ocassionally visit strip clubs together. The girls will turn around while laying down and shake their booty and stick it up in the air. They really shake it. It doesn't do anything for me, kinda makes me sick, and my husband doesn't like it either. I don't think he's into big bottoms as well.

l like skinny women and those that are nicely proportioned. I like small breasts or big ones, but no humongous. I like nice firm butts and big pretty eyes. No saggy rears and no wide hips. No flat rears either.

It's just my preferences.

I've seen this explained on the discovery channel many times over the years; the 36-24-36 (or something like that) figure is generally considered to be that of a very healthy female in our psyche. It may or may not actually be true, but we are talking genetics here where we are genetically programmed to seek out the most healthy specimens to procreate with. This is as true for females as it is for males. Females are genetically programmed to find certain male features attractive as well.

Of course nurture plays a huge role as well, and we can be programmed by nurture to be attracted to the complete opposite.
