Alright where to begin....

i am 26
and only new into my transition.. admittedly i do not know where to start.. which is why i am writing this post....

( I am at the stage of having to write my little biography for the Gender clinic outlining why i feel i have a gender issue)

i know everyone transitions Differently...

but i would very much like to start a check list of things i have to do
a to-do list
i am a girlie girl ( or least that's how i envision my true self)

any help on the matter and guidance would be of great help

Hey, ZydratePrincess (LOVE your username, btw),

I started my transition about 8 years ago, I'm pretty much "done" now.

Here's what I've done, not neccesarily in this order:
  • voice training
  • electrolysis
  • seen a pdoc
  • started hormones
  • legal name change
  • began living fulltime
  • bought clothes
  • made friends
  • worked jobs as female
  • had bottom surgery

Hope that helps. Feel free to ask me about my experiences, or to PM me about anything. Also I'm in chat sometimes, if you see me, come say hi!

If you live in the U.S (and canada, i think) you need to find a "gender therapist" for a minimum of..i think 3 months to get a recommendation to an endocrinologist and be prescribed hormones (usually spiro/estridol from what i've heard, but I don't know)
Most (not all) go through voice training and electrolysis.
umm.
you'll probably need new clothes and things, and to find a job that will allow you to present as female at work (and not be discriminatory)..
and, I think (at least in my area) that you need to be on hormones for...2 years (it's either hormones or therapy that you need 2 years of) before you can get bottom surgery.
oh, and the hormones will cause breast growth, but if you're not satisfied with your breast size then you'll need to talk to a surgeon about implants.
