Hi

I was in a long relationship - we called it quits in 2006. Since then I have dated 1 person for a short while (a year) then I was stationed overseas for 3 years. I was constantly moving around ...... work was my main priority and I did not care about relationships.

I am now back home and want to start dating again. Met someone - obviously the sex topic came up and I stated that I had not been with anyone since 2007. Not too sure if I should mention that ..... to anyone as he just disappeared.?!

I think I am a rather sexual person but if there is no one there I do not bother about it.

Is there something wrong with me?

Is this normal?

Just confused.

It could be a low libido or you might just have a link between sex and emotion so there is no want to do it if there is no emotion. Is there something wrong with you? Probably not. Is it normal? You aren't alone, certainly.

Having rampant sex might seem like the societal norm but it certainly isn't compulsory. If you don't want sex outside of a relationship, don't have it.

Kay, I'm sorry about what happened to you with the last relationship. You deserve so much better though. If a guy is goinh to disappear because you haven't had sex in awhile you know they are in the relationship for the wrong reasons. You are worth more than that and it is his loss that he can't see that.

There's nothing wrong with you I hardly if ever, think about sex if I'm not in a relationship (like now) but if I am in a relationship, my sex drive is über healthy as mentioned above, it's probably due to the emotional connection of a meaningful relationship. Nothing to worry about. Btw, that guy from the dating site is a douche, pay him no mind
