My three cats have ruthlessly mangled four wrapped condoms.

Well, at least one of them did. Since I did not catch anybody in flagrante, but rather noticed the results of their actions, I cannot say who did that. One cat? Two? All three?..

I also cannot tell what prompted it. It happened all of a sudden. Until the cats mangled the condoms, the condoms had been on the floor, under my bed, for several months without provoking undue interest on the part of the cats.

My recommendation to cat owners is to store condoms in a drawer, out of reach of cats.

I'll keep that in mind. Have your cats been fixed? You never know about cats

Yes. I got them through a cat rescue agency. The agency fixes and immunizes and chips every cat.

Ok so they really had no reason to be looking for condoms I suppose. Maybe they were flavored. A friend told me she saw one of my outdoor cats under one of the neighborhood toms last night. She's been fixed so you never know
I have one cat that likes to play on the computer. The other one likes to chew cables and cords and anything he finds on the floor. I'm sure he'd love to get his teeth on a condom.

I know about that one. Mine have managed to pry 4 keys off my very old mac book pro.

Apple store said that my laptop was so old that it was... VINTAGE.

I really think I am having it backwards. I have a mid-1990s car and a VINTAGE laptop. I want to swap them for a new car, a new laptop, and a collection of VINTAGE clothing and jewelry.

At any rate, because the laptop is VINTAGE, Apple could not replace the individual keys. I paid almost $100 for a whole new keyboard, and now, having made this investment, I close the lid any time I am not using the laptop.

For some reason, the cats are in love with the number 4: 4 condoms and 4 keys off the keyboard.

This is where I keep all my condoms plus Plan B plus assorted sexual items and flyers. It's very safe to keep them in there as it's dry and cool, and I keep them high up in my closet so no one can get to them. And if it falls it doesn't all spill out (I keep a lot of condoms in there).

rofl That's even better than my old roommate's usage of an old moonpie box. High five for creativity.

My old cat for which my account is named (may he rest in peace) pulled the 6 key on my number pad off and the "n" key on my old laptop...needless to say, the loss of the "n" key made future essays rather painful. But I would imagine he'd demolish a condom wrapper if he were still around...a shiny wrapper with a weird squishy thing inside? Cat's dream.

Very helpful and looks so good.

On a serious note, I have read that "dry and cool" is essential in condom storage, which is why the glove compartment is a big no-no.

I went to Michael's to buy clay and happened upon something similar, except that it does not look as feminine as yours because it is not pink but dark colored and not nicely round but rectangular, but it is a large box with a tight lid, just like yours.

And the cover says: The secret to living your life: enjoy each moment.

The moment I saw it, I thought of your pink round box and decided that this box at Michael's with its highly uplifting (no pun intended) motto would be just right for the condoms and the yet-to-be-started collection of sex toys. So, for $8, I got it and put it on top of the closet.

So... that was such a good idea you attached the image.

Well after my cats removed four keys, I paid for a new keyboard, and on the new kb, the letter "h" which is even MORE centrally located than the key "n" would fall off again and again, and I took the laptop back to the Apple Store and they changed the key "h" but it did not help and then the installed another kb and...

the new kb's key "c" would not work

I played with it, massaged it, said magic words, and finally, it started working. It just needed extra encouragement.

So apparently Apple keyboards require human touch to work... are sex toys also so high maintenance?

Yes. You have to clean them very well, which for me is very anticlimactic after using them. And depending on what you have, there can be little ridges and grooves that can be very hard to clean. My dildo had grooves which proved hard to clean as well as my butt plug, which still smells like *** no matter how hard I clean it, what cleaner I use, or how hot the water is when I clean it. And the type of material (porous/non-porous, rubber, glass, etc.) of the toy can affect the way you clean it. And if it has batteries, you have to take it out when you clean it and you're not supposed to keep the batteries inside the toy when not in use.

Cleaning the toy is a big reason why I don't use toys often.

I am so glad you have warned me!!

No, that would be a show stopper. I mean... I have trouble keeping up with dirty dishes even though I have a dishwasher.

Speaking of the dishwasher - if the sex toys can be run through a dishwasher, that could be a solution to the problem of cleaning them.

I know there are glass dildos, and glass is usually dishwasher-safe, at least on the top rack where the temperature does not get too high during the wash cycle.

I have no idea which are dishwater safe. You would have to ask the sales assistance.

I have a set of dilators (not sex toys so much as sex.. uh... well, lets put it this way, my physical therapist gave them to me to use to make sex hurt less.. So they're not exactly toys, since i"m supposed to just lie there with them in me for 10 minutes every day...) and my PT's words were: "Sex is not sterile. These don't need to be sterile. Just warm water and soap. You can even put them in the dish washer."
