Some men are indeed liars, sexists, and hypocrites... Just like some women

I don't think the men are lying or hypocritical when they say they prefer no makeup. I simply think that when a woman is wearing it properly, that is in a subtle way that doesn't SCREAM "I've got my face covered in makeup," he may not even realize she's wearing any. If she has evened out her skin tone and made it look rosy, and accented her best features while drawing attention away from her flaws, he might think she just has really good, healthy skin. Therefore he'll say he prefers that look, as opposed to Mimi who was pictured in an earlier post.
Whether or not makeup clogs pores depends on brand, how thickly it's applied, and whether or not it's removed properly, as well as general skin care practices. If I'm not mistaken, it would seem waterproof brands are more likely to clog pores, since perspiration won't dilute it. This is one reason I never use waterproof. I also don't use mascara of any kind, since even "hypoallergenic" brands tend to irritate me. I guess I just don't like to have anything directly touching my eyelashes. To draw attention to my eyes, I use liner. Brown-black nowadays, at this stage of my life, whereas when I was younger I went for blackest-black. Too dark a shade would now look garish on me. Also, as Venus pointed out, makeup must be removed at night, even if it is not full coverage. I wash my face as usual, use a baby wipe to get anything that remains, and then apply a small bit of mineral oil (I have very dry skin) to a cotton ball and use it on the driest parts of my face. It makes my skin very soft in the morning. PS: I don't wear makeup if I'm just hanging around the house or doing personal errands like grocery shopping. I wear it for church, business, and any other time my appearance matters, because unfortunately if you're a woman, it often does. Last edited by anon20140705; Jun 14, 2013 at 03:25 PM. |

Should women wear make-up? I don't think so. Nobody should do anything unless they want to.
I do, however, think that most women look better with a little bit of make-up. Everything in moderation though. I personally don't like it when a woman is obviously wearing way too much make-up. I prefer the more natural look. Then again, my opinion does not matter at all. As long as everyone just does whatever makes them feel comfortable, it's all good. ![]() |

I think wearing makeup is distracting. At least, if I think it's distracting, then it's too much makeup. There's the clumpy mascara, or the mascara that makes your eyelashes look like spider legs, eyeshadow that's too dark or too colorful, overdone eyeliner that tries to mimic Cleopatra, too much blush/bronzer... The general rule is to wear makeup that looks like you're not wearing makeup at all.
I think the natural look is very eye-catching and makes me say "Wow, that is a confident woman, I would date her." |

Should people let people do whatever they want with their bodies? <-- That's what you are asking me. Yes. Yes they should. Let other people do what they want with their face. . .Conclusion? This question is irrelevant.

As far as personal preference, it depends on the build and features of the woman in question.
as far as the main should they are not - there is no real answer that's up to them personally. |

Personally I prefer fragrance oils & accessory's. I have my own blend.
When I do an art function I sometimes have used ink for flowers and vines on my face. I do, do makeup when I have to for professional reasons but I get this "Oh My g*d" ![]() ![]()

Can someone show me a picture of "just a little makeup"? I mean find something off Google and post.
I'm curious what this means to you.

![]() This is one example of minimal nude makeup but she still has products like cover-up, foundation, blush, eye shadow/liner, mascara and lip color. Minimal makeup usually is nude tones. It could also be brown mascara and clear lip gloss. Personally I wear nude tones and like to wear makeup because I have blond eyebrows and light eyelashes that don't show without it. Many men who have wondering eyes go for women who have makeup and look sexy.

It's no different to a woman started a thread and asking if men look better shaved and waxed or natural and hairy. |

It'd have been interesting to have seperately posted this thread under both the male only and female only section of the forum and then to have compared those results.
Probably less fun though ![]() |

Here's a picture of Taylor Swift, with and without makeup. Opinions, guys? Does she look better without?

I did once know a man who let his beard grow unkempt and wouldn't even comb or trim it "because it's natural this way." He looked hideous, in my opinion. We trim gardens instead of letting them get weedy and overgrown. We should do the same with our personal appearance. |

Hyneman wouldn't be the same without his mustache though!! Actually I'm not at all bothered by it. He is an unique creature.
For some reason Tom Selleck's made me shudder though. I think it is because he has no beard.

Taylor Swift looks better with the make up.
It really depends on the woman though and also how used to seeing someone with or without make up. If I see someone who usually doesn't have any or little make up, and then see them once with make up on, I'm likely to think they look better without it because that's what I'm used to seeing. Vice versa if they're always wearing make up. |

I think Taylor Swift has the WRONG makeup on for her young face and her natural colouring She just cant get away with that much drama. Think if she had dark colouring it wouldnt seem so harsh. Therefore she looks better in the first pic.

Not entirely certain about the unhealthiness in her hair. Maybe, the first, looks a little dry and if I look closely some split ends. How about the second photo?? |
