slow down! everything you have heard about being gay is wrong. being gay is perfectly normal for about 5% of the population. there is no need to "end it." it's time to replace those unfulfilled sexual dreams with real experience. seek someone who loves you back; avoid the promiscuity. it sounds like you could benefit from some counseling. have you tried it? feel welcome to PM me with questions. (I am gay.)

Quit beating yourself up for being gay. Your being gay does not make you a bad person and especially, it is no reason to end it all. I agree with unhappyguy that counseling would be a good idea. I'm straight but see nothing wrong with your being gay. Glad you found PC. I hope you find the support you need to feel ok with yourself.

I agree with the others who answered. Being gay makes you ... gay. It's biology. It has nothing to do with your "value" as a human being. That comes from the kind of man you are and how you live your life.
It is tragic that in the past, being gay was considered wrong, criminal even. Equally horrible things were thought of African Americans, Asians, Jews, Native Americans. We are finally becoming accepting as a society of GLBT folks just as we did with other groups. Not a moment to soon. My take on your situation: ignore the haters, they are increasingly marginalized. Love yourself for who you are. Date, marry, have kids, whatever makes you happy. Love who you love without guilt or shame or reservation. There may be organizations that can help you, such as maybe PFLAG or the Triangle Foundation. Have an awesome life and you will look back with disbelief and whimsy on how you feel now. |
