My names Alice and I'm pretty new here. I was born a guy but I feel like a girl, I didn't really understand how I was feeling for a very long time but now, at seventeen, I know. Sadly, I came out to my father, last night, as a "transgender" and I know I shouldn't complain because he didn't do anything awful like forsake me, but he just kind of dismissed everything like it didn't really mean anything. So yeah, I thought I would try to whine about it

Looking at it from his shoes... it's well... it would take some time to deal with. Give him some time to process. To me it looks like so far so good. Hang in there

Oh right, good point... It's been a couple of days since I've told him so I guess I'm just waiting to see how he's taken it.

That was extremely brave. I didn't tell my parents about my gender presentation, or lack there of (I am neither male or female) until I was. Well, 23, my age now. I'm glad he took it as he did. Give him some time, and I think all will be well. In the mean time, be proud of yourself and take care of yourself too!
