Hi there, like what I said I'm new here.
There was this issue that I have kept to myself only, not even my girlfriend knows about this because I was just embarrassed about it. It's been like this for about a year plus. It's about the excessive Smegma that accumulates every single day around the forehead of my penis. Is this actually normal? I did not know who to go to as I was shy about this. And worse of all, I dare not discuss this with my guy friends, afraid that they would give me the bad impression. I hope you guys can help me out. Since I'm from South East Asia, the country is hot but damp. I wonder if any of you guys experience the same thing or is this normal. It's weird that there's so much everyday when I actually maintain my hygiene well. I only got 1 problem though, I sweat very very easily, which explains why I'm still fit despite eating so much, haha. Anyway, kindly advice me please. Thank you all! I guess the best suggestion would be to wash it often. I do get it time to time, but only if i havent been washing under my foreskin for few days. Don't wash it with soap to often and use mild water. not to hot or to cold and after you have washed it clean it dry with towel, dont rub it or brush it, be real gentle with the towel and just kinda tap it until it gets dry.

Yes, I wash it everyday. I'm just wondering if this is normal because I'm doing I think it's exaggerating that smegma accumulates a lot every single day.
At least you don't have to wash everyday, mine seems odd. I'm afraid it's a yeast infection or some kind of disease. Kindly advice, anyone. Thank you! |

I'm not sure about men but as women you freaking know when you have a yeast infection. They are bad.

It it's a minor yeast infection and you clean yourself daily, it may be a yeast infection. Men don't have as severe symptoms as women because the penis isn't as wet as the vag.
I would co tjnue to cleanse with water, allow your nether region to breathe, and see a doc. You may want to see one with your sexual partner as the two of you could be passing it back and forth. __________________ gnat Dx: depression and anxiety Tx: Rhodiola Rosea, humor, denial, dance, and wallowing in my own self-pity My blog: http://messedinthehead.psychcentral.net/ |

I would guess that like most things it varies from person to person and i would guess that it's normal for you. It's not too much hassle to wash it off in the shower.

one more thing is that when you pee, take the foreskin down and once you done peeing squeeze the last drops out, otherwise it gets dirty under there also.
But of course see a doc, maybe it really is just an infection. |

Smegma is dead skin. Do you masturbate? If so, that would account for more smegma than usual. Also, skin abrasion could account for the problem. I presume you do wear underwear? I suggest wearing underwear of a breathable fabric to keep the penis as dry as possible. After you wash it, it is important to dry it off since it is a naturally moist body part.

Yes I masturbate, but not everyday. I do it it like 1-2 times a week. And yes, I do wear underwear, cotton ones I suppose. I only wash during my shower so it is dry when I dry myself with a towel. Thanks for the informative reply, little did I know that masturbation can result more smegma. That's profounding. However, I'm not sure if skin abrasion resulted me to have more smegma. I only know I'm uncircumcised. |
