Is there some psychology behind this?

I'm talking about girls who like straight male couples, pairings, slash, yaoi, etc. There's many different pairings of men that girls like to draw or write about in fanfiction, and there's hundreds of girls who are into straight male couplings. I'm rather enjoying myself as a writer, but I'm wondering why this is.

No, it's a sub category of fanfiction. Let's take SkrillMau5 for example, or Skrillex/DeadMau5 pairing. They are straight in real life, but girls write about them in a relationship or having sex.

Oh, okay. That makes sense. And as can be guessed, I don't really have much to offer.

OMG I totally forgot that I wrote slash in my mid 20's! Remember "Boy Meets World"? The last couple of seasons, Eric goes to college and rooms w/ Jack. Well I wrote a few Eric/Jack fanfics and I remember being so in love with Matthew Lawrence. I guess that's OT but I blurted it out and there it is.
Thanks for this!

SkrillMau5 is my first couple. My other gay couples have been my own characters. It's so comforting to know that there are other people out there who are into this.

Totally. It's crazy popular. Even had a therapist that was also a Methodist pastor and she LOVED slash.

Sometimes I have watched videos where the description says that it is two straight guys experimenting for money, or one gay guy having sex with a straight guy and teaching him how to be gay. I enjoy these videos sometimes. It is exciting i guess, to see a man do gay things for the first time. I am not sure why this makes me excited. It just makes them look vulnerable or something. But your guess is as good as mine... I know you are talking about fanfic so I will add that I have read my share of slashes, anime stuff. I find it exciting too.

Yeah, nothing compares to your first sexual experience. It's scary and exciting all at the same time. It's funny how complex human sexuality is, especially when you get into ppl's fetishes. Some of that stuff can be a bit out there. I say that with no judgement of course.

Totally my thing! When I was in high school I use to pair up anime characters all the time. University it was Harry Potter characters. Now it's OC's of mine and my friends from D&D. ^_^ though I don't write those out or tell anyone really.

As for why it is... I don't know. But I do know that my ex girlfriend (a lesbian) also enjoys slash. In fact, it's her favourite porn/erotica! Since she hit puberty. In fact, come to think of it, many of the lesbians I know like slash or yaoi.

Factor that in?

I watch a lot of gay porn. I could get deep in my reasoning why. I'm terrified of sex and watching a man having sex with a woman makes me imagine myself in the same position which triggers me. Seeing two guys have sex does not bother me.

I like seeing more masculine or straight seeming guys because I like thinking that the guys I'm watching might possibly be down to sleep with me but they are too preoccupied with having gay sex to be a threat.

Plus it is just hot as hell for two guys to touch each other and enjoy being with another man
