Before anything else, I should mention that I'm a straight guy, happily with my missus of nearly 3 years.
With that being said, a hobby of mine for years has been to wear high-heeled boots. I think they're really comfy and look fantastic, as well as doubly making my legs look great. I feel great when I wear them, and I really don't see why more guys don't wear them. Granted it's out of the ordinary, but I don't believe there's any such thing as being a crossdresser at all - it's just a society-given label that is a very uneducated one at best and in this day and age we should be past immature and uneducated labels. At the risk of contradicting myself; going out into public wearing a pair of my boots is still a scary thought and I'd hate to be ridiculed in front of people. I really want to stand up for what I believe in, which is doing whatever makes you happy regardless of what other people want to say about it, but it gives me the shakes just thinking about being made fun of in public. I'm trying to work up the courage to go out into a public place wearing my boots, probably under some jeans to begin with rather than have a set of knee highs on show, just to get the feel for wearing them and getting used to it being no different than wearing ordinary shoes. Does anybody have any advice? I really want to overcome this fear of being ridiculed so I can do something that plenty of other people do, albeit women. I'd appreciate any feedback. Thanks! |

What do the heels look like?
Don't forget that people look at us but rarely see us. Do you remember what guy in front of you in the grocery store had on? |

Did you know high heels were originally made for rich men? It was a symbol of status way back when
Especially if you're wearing them underneath your jeans most people don't notice shoes unless they're looking on the floor and even then they're hardly paying attention. I guess my advice is to do a short trip in them. Like a grocery store visit. And then ease yourself into being comfortable wearing them for longer and longer times in public. I'm glad you're giving it a shot though It's frustrating when no one sees it as strange for girls to be wearing guys clothes but the moment a guy looks more feminine he gets harassed. I'm glad you're pushing yourself to be comfortable and breaking a norm at the same time! Way to go!! Best of luck! I'm rooting for you! |

One word ... metrosexual. Those guys know how to dress!
There are plenty of high-heeled men's boots out there. Like these: Some have higher heels like those you showed, some have lower heels. Find the right pair, get used to wearing them and DO IT! |

I don't find anything too remarkable about them...they're not stilettos (Not that I care, but just speaking from the perspective of how "noticeable" they are) Whatever people think, that's their problem, anyway. IF you get responses, I'm guessing it's women complimenting them, or just some some kids with insecurities. Do it today and report back... I meant unremarkable as in the literal sense....You yourself have fantastic taste.. Last edited by Anonymous37954; Mar 05, 2014 at 02:24 PM.. Reason: sounding like a **** |

It'd be nice if women complimented them rather than being negative towards it, because then it'd make me feel a lot more comfortable. I do, unfortunately, come from an area where I probably would be poked fun at by youths, but that's something I'll have to take on the chin.. I haven't managed to go out today, but I've spoken to a friend and they're up for having a coffee outing on Friday and accompanying me while wearing them so I feel a little more comforted having somebody there, so I'm super excited! And don't worry about what you said either, I knew what you meant and didn't take any offence to it. I totally appreciate the compliment also. It's nice to know I'm choosing the right boots at least! haha. |

Eddie Izzard is hilarious and one of my favorite comedians. Being an improv comic, he was invited to be on Whose Line Is It Anyway and he was so head-and-shoulders above the usual comedians that they almost didn't know how to react to him. He was too good at improvising the jokes.

Lots of country boys wear high-heeled shoes, I think they're called cowboy boots.
Sounds like you have good friends to stand by you. I'll wear lingerie in public because it turns me on, but I keep it tasteful. Those boots look nice, the heels look just like the heels on cowboy boots. |

Well, today is the day! I'm meeting up with my friend around lunchtime, so from then on it's going to be a life-changing experience.

SO.. I went over to the coffee place with my friend.
I went out wearing a pair of gothic-looking boots I have and thought that if I wore those and people noticed them as I walked in, surely they wouldn't think twice if I switched to my platforms under the table? That's exactly what I did! It took me about an hour or so to get comfortable and make sure nobody was in my line of sight to where they could see me putting my platforms on, but as soon as I did, they felt great. Nobody noticed, despite me thinking everybody was looking at me, and I managed to walk over to the bathroom about an hour into wearing them and nobody noticed. On the way back to my seat, a lady noticed them and said "They look great on you!" and I thanked her a little shyly. All in all, my first experience wearing them in public was a little intimidating at first, but the lady that complimented me really made me feel comfortable and, in all honesty, pretty confident to do it again in the future! |
