I don't understand why the men in the changerooms undress openly in the changerooms at the local swimming pool when they could just as easily undress discreetly in a stall or something.

Do women do this too?

In my experience women hide in the stalls.

I personally hide. I do not need other people seeing and criticizing my hideousness. I am already very well aware of it.

Some women don't care and change right out in the open. Most women change in stalls. I think women are a lot more body self conscience then men.

Are these usually the more attractive women or do you not notice a difference?

Because it's no big deal for most guys - most guys had to do it in gym class and sports in school, had to do it in dorm and military settings, etc. It's just not a big deal - I see guys naked all of the time in the locker room, steam room and sauna at my gym - although technically they are supposed to wear bathing trunks or a towel in the steam room and sauna, some guys do some don't. No one cares as long as they sit on a towel for sanitary reasons.

Some are attractive, some not so much. I think it's all about the individual.

Many men, such as me, just change at home for privacy. I used to change out in the open locker room in K-12 as that is standard procedure for school athletics.

I'm definitely in the bracket of less attractive women who change in the open. Mainly because you can't swing a cat in those stalls. But I was also in a swim team so got used to being scantly clad in front of strangers

I've never seen other women/girls change in view of strangers.

We usually tend to our business in the stalls. I've been nude once, but that was when I was littler and didn't know any better (that took place at summer camp).

I usually change at home, then throw on a beach cover up dress. No way would I show off my nude body to anyone, it's a disgusting sight to see. The only thing you'll ever see me close to be naked is when I'm in the lockers changing for a school gym class.
