I recently saw an interview with Simon Helberg who said that testosterone can be increaesd if there is no orgasm for 6 weeks. This is something I am keen to try, because I have a low sex drive and low energy and I would like to increase both of these.

Currently I am on day two. I had sex with my partner two nights ago. So that's two down, 40 to go.

I haven't told my partner about this yet, but I'm sure she will understand if there is no sex for 1 and a half months.

Has anyone else tried something similar? How did your partner react?

Yes, because a man releases a lot of zinc when he ejaculates. Zinc is responsible for testosterone production but from what I've read, testosterone tends to rise on day 7 of no orgasm and then back down to normal. Though there was another study that men who hadn't ejaculated for 3 weeks had on average higher testosterone then those who masturbated every day.

I wish 40 days of celibacy was a daunting task for my other half we've only had sex once since valentines day occasionally he encourages me to masturbate him, but he's to tired distracted to actually have intercourse.

I have a fairly high sex drive and when we were first together I was having an intimate moment when he came and got back in bed and proceeded to chat away about booking a holiday and tipped a load of magazines on top of the bed and me. I had to stop him and explain I was preoccupied but it had killed the moment so to speak so I now wait until he's out of the way
