Everything makes so much more sense now.
Also, sorry, I just wanted to announce it somewhere. Eventually I'll have to tell me parents. -Sam __________________ I hope you have a really great day. |

Samanthagreene, you are certainly not alone. I think I may be as well. You got it out so I hope this helps you in some way. There really is a population of people who are asexual. It is real. Do some research on this if you haven't already as I did. It may help you when you speak to your parents. Best wishes.

Happy to hear it!
If you haven't already, I highly recommend "The Invisible Orientation: An Introduction to Asexuality." It is a highly informative book and helped my understand the orientation, myself, and gave me words to express things I could before only feel. As for telling your parents; if you feel it's something you should do, then by all means inform them! "Invisible Orientation" helps in this regard a great deal. Just keep in mind that this is no one's business but yours and you owe no one an explanation for who you are. I've been debating on sitting down with my own parents and having an informative talk with them. They know I have some 'issues' with my sexuality and perhaps letting them know I'm Asexual and helping them understand what that means would help them out. But at the end f the day, it's just my business. |
