Hi, so I identify as bisexual. Unfortunately, I don't know how to tell my family this fact. It took me a long time to get the courage up to tell my boyfriend that I'm not only attracted to men, I'm attracted to women as well. And he took it well. Said "Okay. I don't mind. Have as many female companions as you like as you tell me about them." I felt like this huge weight had been lifted off my chest that night. But, when I think about telling my family, I get scared. They can be judgmental sometimes and it makes me uneasy to even think about telling them. I know they love me, but I'm afraid of disappointing them. A lot of the time, they call me the "good child" because I rarely get into trouble. I don't know how to explain or what to do.

Oh, and thanks for taking the time to read this. It took me a minuet to get the nerve to post this.

Maybe I'm looking at your situation wrong but I don't see the need to tell your family until you are actually in a relationship with a woman. Part of me feels like maybe your inviting problems or looking to spice up your sex life. As a bisexual female, I see being bisexual as not just wanting sex with a man or a woman but being able to have an intimate, loving relationship.

I see your point. I wasn't certain how really explain my situation, so I didn't really explain it well.

You didn't mention your family's views on sexuality. I assume they don't approve of intersex dating or relationships? I mean, like Zelev said, it isn't even their business until you're in a relationship and then, if they are the type that don't approve, it might take a long sit down talk with them.

I agree with above responses no reason to divulge that to them unless you are in a relationship with a woman or planning on being with only women and bringing them around your family.
