Question Oct 22, 2015 at 04:23 AM

I have this unusual fantasy. I have experienced being inside a tumble dryer and I have been steam ironed. I have had this fantasy all my life, well, since I was about 8/9 I used to spend my child life sat in launderettes watching ladies doing their laundry. I used to imagine the clothes had feelings and they would cry/sob and scream when being put into the dryers and it became a fantasy that I would one day experience this "cruelty".
I am lucky enough to have met a lady (who I have since got engaged to) who understood what I was going through. After months of deliberating and mentioning to her about her clothes and what she did to them, I had to tell her that I could hear them suffering when she dried and steam ironed them, she basically ask me if I was asking her to do it to me, embarrassingly I said yes and since then she "launders" me on a regular basis.
This may sound stupid to some people that read this, but when she has washed the clothes and put them in the tumble dryer she waits a while until the dryer is really hot and the clothes are steaming hot, then she takes me to the dryer, opens the door and pushes my head inside and holds me there, she then makes me lay down and watch whilst she sets the steam iron up, she then places a thick bath towel over me and steam irons the towel, she turns the towel over now and again so I feel the heat on my body, sometimes it really hurts but I never get burned or "branded".

Hello adwhit22: Welcome to PsychCentral! PC is a great place to gain support as well as to obtain mental health related information. There are many knowledgeable & caring members here.

Yes, your laundering fantasy does sound unusual. But spend some time, here on PC, & you'll discover it certainly has plenty of company. People have all sorts of fantasies. It's great that your lady is so willing to work with your fantasy. This certainly makes things easier for you.

I've been watching a TV series on our local public broadcasting station (U.S.) titled: "The Brain with David Eagleman". One of the points that Eagleman has been making is that much more of who we are, & what we do, is controlled by our subconscious minds than we typically believe to be the case. I presume fantasies, such as the one you describe, emanate from those subconscious regions. Perhaps one day there will be a way for us to tap into those areas of our brains. Wouldn't that be interesting!
