I like to suffer and I make myself suffer. I started doing this when I was about 13. This is also the time that I started fantasizing about being bound and raped because I was sexually aroused by the thought. I also enjoy people making fun of me. I find it enjoyable and I like to see everyone laughing. When I found out what flogging was, I began fantasizing about being bound and flogged because I found it sexually arousing. I found it sexually erotic to date guys who dominated and controlled me. My high school therapist said I was looking for a father figure.

My father was very controlling about how I completed tasks. My dad noticed I was making coffee and he didn't want any, but he stopped me to tell me how many scoops of coffee to add according to the instructions. My mother expressed to me that she was a mistress. My mom raised me like I was a dog and used classical conditioning while she raised me. Do you think that I might be a masochist?

If you look up the definition, it will describe to you what this is. The reasons for being this way are usually upbringing or just that it brings you pleasure.

The question is how you feel afterwards. Are there feelings of guilt?
Only you can decide if this is something maladpative or not.

As a masochist myself I try not to dwell on the past & all the questions of why. It can really bog me down bec there's so very many labels out there. Does it really matter where these feelings come from as long as you understand & accept them?
I guess to some it does, I just wouldn't dwell on the issue. Yes you might have masochistic tendencies, but you might also discover other things as well. There's no one "true" answer. If you enjoy masochism you'll haveto find a RACK (risk aware consentual kink) person to play with. Most men do not understand masochism & think it's about abuse. Please don t let yourself be abused! Find someone who understands what you're looking for. Be very picky & very careful.
