Hi. Last year I was on imipramine by itself for the first time after coming off 5 years of quetiapine and 20 ish years of clomipramine. After a few weeks my sex drive went through the roof. Also I hadn't had sex for about 9 years.

Can imipramine by itself cause a rise in sex drive or could it be a few things? I usually have a very low sex drive. I think it is not helped by the medication. I am now on Abilify too and my sex drive is low again. If I could successfully stop the Abilify do you think it would come back? I am 2.5ml of it and am hoping to get down to 1ml next. Hopefully after that I can be Abilify free. I hate taking medication but really antipsychotics as they are very unhealthy and make you put on weight among other things.

Obviously I am not just wanting to come off Abilify for sex reasons. It is because it will be good for my health. I just wondered if anyone else had had a similar experience. I have forgotten the US name for imipramine, I will look it up.

It is called Tofranil in the US.
