I am asexual. People sometimes ask me questions I don’t know how to answer or I don’t want to answer.
Someone asked me if I had a boyfriend. And I said no. Then they asked me if i had a girl friend. And I said no. They then asked why. At work someone asked me what “type” I like. She would not let up. How do I answer these questions without telling them stuff I don’t want them to know? Why do they think these are appropriate questions in the first place. I get asked these questions often. Maybe people can tell I’m assexual? |

It depends on how confrontational you want to be.
You could just stare at them. You could ask them why they would ask such a personal question. Less confrontationally, you could say “Don’t worry about it.” If they persist, you can say”Just don’t worry about it.” If they still persist you can stare. If someone is consistently harassing you at work, you can ask your supervisor for help in getting them to stop. |

Answer a question with a question....you don’t need to answer.
