About 3 weeks ago (Friday, 9th of March), I went to see my doctor with questions about my sexuality and sex drive. After talking, they recommended that I take some blood tests at the local hospital to see whether there were any hormonal (or other) reasons for my issues.
I had the day free, so I was able to go later that day to have the tests done. The person who ran my tests said it was likely that they'd be able to get the results to the doctor/clinic by the following Monday (12th of March). Since then though, I haven't heard anything. At what point should I contact my clinic and find out what's going on? My doctor definitely said they'd contact me once they had the results, but I've never had a test like this before, so I'm not sure how long it should take. However, it has now been over 3 weeks since I had the tests, and 2 and a half weeks since my doctor *should* have received the results. I don't want to bother them (I know doctors are busy), but these results are quite important for me and I would like to know what's going on. Thoughts, anyone? |

Nothing wrong with giving them a call. If it will help, mention something like "i know you're probably busy but can you help me out"? Usually people are very helpful if you ask for it.

Thanks for your advice. I did give them a call yesterday. They were super helpful.
Apparently they've had the results for a while, but didn't contact me because the results were normal and it's often the case to not contact the patient when the results don't show anything (negative). I guess that's a good thing. I've scheduled a follow-up appointment for next Tuesday to work out what to do next. |
