I am a masochist in all aspects.

My question is: If being a masochist is in your brain, to the point it used to be labelled as a mental illness, can you change it?

Can you rewire your brain to not get the high? Or would any attempt be confined to recognizing masochistic behavior, avoiding it, but always wanting it?

as a sadist, i may be a bit bias but i don't think it is something that necessarily needs to be fixed as long as the pain is consensual and not seriously threatening your own health. but is it is seriously upsetting you, maybe talk to a professional. Do whatever makes you happy ma dude
