Has anyone done this? I learned of this little quiz on another website & took the test. My masculinity score was: 75. My femininity score was 90. This places me in the "undifferentiated" quadrant outside of the areas where 70% of men score as well as outside where 70% of women would score but closer to where 70% of women score than to where 70% of men score.

Here's a link to the quiz should anyone wish to take it:

Interesting
102 masculinity
100 femininity
I'm the most boring of boring since 100 is the average score

I'm male.

I got 103 for masculinity and 93 for femininity. Near the middle expected score for men and just outside the expected score for women. Roughly what I expected. I'm a bit androgynous, psychologically/emotionally.

Masculinity: 85
Femininity: 84

I'm not too impressed with this test. I would have asked questions that seem more directly correlated with masculinity and femininity. But even so, I don't think we can accurately measure a person's masculinity/femininity, simply because there are too many variations as to how they are expressed. Each personality has its own unique expression of masculinity/femininity.

I was almost equal on each one. I don't understand why there were so many questions about starting fires. Is that really a man thing?

Results of the Open Sex Role Inventory
The OSRI scores on two scales: masculinity and femininity. Scores for each scale are set so that that the average score of everyone is 100 (with a standard deviation of 15).

Your score for masculinity was 78.
Your score for femininity was 115.

Your scores are plotted below (horizontal axis is femininity, vertical axis is masculinity).

According to Sandra Bem, high levels of both masculinity and femininity is androgyny and is psychologically healthy. Low levels of both is undifferentiated. As expected, men score higher on this test for masculinity and women score higher for femininity. The graph below shows the general areas where most people of each gender fall (e.g. 70% of men get a score within the red line).

I don't remember my exact scores, but I fall right in the middle of the circle that represents 70% of men.

Even though I was assigned female at birth, I've always had a masculine/male personality/mind/soul (however you want to describe it) even though I don't necessarily relate to a lot of masculine physical traits and may or may not transition. It makes sense that I would relate more to masculinity.

Oh dear, but I feel like there is a bit of a flaw. I had a very domineering brother and I feel like without that I might think differently on a few things.

I think that these quizzes and other short quizzes have to be taken with a grain of salt. Obviously they are not in depth studies. I do think its commendable that they recognize that we all have stereotypically “male”and “female” characteristics. However, labeling traits as male or female ironically seems to hark back to old fashioned attitudes.
I think these short quizzes are meant to prompt thinking and more in depth reading on whatever subject, not a blind acceptance.

I wonder how much of this has to do with perceived gender norms vs innate sex characteristics?
