I am 12 days post op from a total hysterectomy. I know you are not supposed to have sex for 2 weeks, but what about masturbating? My libido has exploded since the surgery in ways I haven’t seen all year and I really can’t control myself. Plus it’s super easy and amazing now. I had pain the first time. But yesterday it was ok. I had laparoscopic surgery done if that makes any difference. I’ve been doing it on top of my underwear so I haven’t done it directly down there.

But will this cause issues or complications? I see my doctor on Thursday and I don’t want to get into trouble.

even with laparoscopic you still are not supposed to have any kind of sex including masturbation for the amount of time set by your doctors.

just in case you have forgotten what the doctor has told you a total hysterectomy is the removal of the uterus and cervix. the whole surgery is not done laparoscopically. ie the uterus and cervix will not fit through a laparoscopic hole. part of the surgery is though the vagina. then they sew (suture or staples are used) the back of the vagina closed where the uterus and cervix used to be.

the reason they tell you no sex for two weeks is to give that wound time to heal and the vaginal muscles time to heal.

Talk with your doctors they will explain to you in more detail what they meant when they said no sex for 2 weeks.

also give your self time. when I had my hysterectomy there was no way my genitals were interested in any form of sex. it hurt inside, and every time I used my abdomen muscles it did not feel good at all. it really does take a couple weeks for healing to happen.

talk with your doctors.

I saw my doctor today. I explained the pain and the burning to him. I didn’t tell him how it had happened. But he just said it could be one of 2 things. A yeast infection or a UTI. So he did a urine test and prescribed this one time pill thing. He didn’t really do any kind of exam. He looked at a couple of my incisions for less then 10 seconds. He just didn’t really seem like he wanted to be bothered today. He didn’t ask any questions or anything. Even basic ones like “how are you feeling?”

I mean what’s the worst that can happen? I’m not trying to be rude I’m legit just wondering what’s the worst that can happen if you do stuff 10 days after.

maybe you should ask your doctor your question. theres only so much you get get answered here in details that could answer the questions you seem to want answers to.

Im not trying to be rude but your doctor ..........is.........the ones that did the surgery, therefore they are the only ones that know details about your surery that can answer whats the worst thing that could happen.

for .............me.......... the worst thing would have been my rupturing the stitches and my death from hemorrhaging.

I told my mom. Through code and in text but she got what I was telling her. Then I sent a message to my doctor through my patient portal. I told him I was not really being careful. I was doing the message with my mom and it was just awkward. So it was more code talk. But I told him I hadn’t been very careful and I was wondering if it was possible I had hurt myself. Today the pain wasn’t that bad. So maybe it was just a yeast infection. I’m avoiding everything that can possibly turn me on.
