(I tried to post something else here before, but it was a little too graphic. So hopefully this doesnt break any TOS)

I have been struggling with zoophilic thoughts for as long as I can remember; though id never do anything to hurt an animal.

I dont like these thoughts, Im ashamed of them. They make me feel dirty. Ive came to terms with it, and even joined some other websites for people who struggle with the same things as I do and they tell me I should love myself, and embrace it. But its really hard to do that when even finding something attractive makes you feel sub-human.

I dont know what to do about this. Please help

You didn't ask to have zoophilia. It is something that happened to you. I think you are doing the best you can. Who could ask for more?

We don't really choose our afflictions. They befall us and we deal with them the best we can given everything influencing us. Wish I knew what to say to help.

Beating oneself up over things is not really helpful. Often it is the afflictions that burden us and that we carry with a heavy heart, the ones we endure: those are what reveals the heroic side of our nature, the part of us that transcends our afflictions.

I have never been overly impressed by those who do once-in-a-lifetime acts of heroism that makes the news. I think of people like you as the real heroes of life.

I just think continue to do your utmost to never act out on your zoophilia thoughts/urges, which is what you are doing. And maybe meditation can help you with learning to let go/diminish the attachment to these thoughts. Me, I get negative urges of a different kind in my head which over time are diminishing loosing their power and frequency. It's good. I've made a lot of lifestyle changes over years but I do believe mindfulness meditation (you can Google that) and ordinary meditation, especially during rough times, have helped. Just commit yourself in whatever ways you like, to healthier lifestyle. No harming things.🙏
