I was taught that masturbation was dirty, immoral, sinful and unnatural, but it didn't stop me. I enjoyed it too much.

Masturbation is considered a sin by some religions. However, all qualified medical, psychiatric, psychological, and sex experts concur that masturbation is completely normal and healthy and that almost everyone engages in it.

If you ejaculate frequently, your risk of getting prostate cancer may be reduced. How often is frequent? A study at Harvard Medical School says 21 times a month. A similar Australian study points to seven times a week.

I'm a 68 year old male and I masturbate at least 3 or 4 times a week. The reason that I restrict it to 3 or 4 times is because I like to edge for hours, thereby limiting when I can masturbate. Believe me, if I could do it more often I would!!

Becoming obsessed with masturbation to the point it's interfering with your life? Yes (obviously, I feel like at that point it's not even something to enjoy, and that there are plenty of other things that you could be doing).

Porn? Yes because does set unrealistic expectations when they take a lot of footage, splice and edit it. Then when you actually try having a sexual relationship with a person, it seems far inferior when you're used to jacking off while watching staged sex, a lot of times with freaky shyt literally no sane person you want to be sleeping with will do.

Where I differ is that the type of porn that I use for masturbation is not unrealistic, sexually "normal" and fairly tame. And the porn that my wife and I use for entertainment is also pretty much along the same line.
Also, the amount that I masturbate is not excessive (3 to 4 times a weeks) and I sometimes do it to entertain and arouse my partner. She sometimes does it to entertain me.

I think 3-4 times a week for a 68 year old male is a healthy frequency. As you know, it is use it or lose it as you age, and you are clearly using it, as is your wife.

If I understand correctly what you mean by "edging it", then you are clearly not being compulsive about it.

I am not sure what the nature of your question is.

No, it is a very normal thing to engage in, harmless, any health professional 'should' tell you that. And people shouldn't shame kids for it either, because that's basically where all these negative ideas that it's 'evil' and 'immoral' stem from, I think... In terms of religion, my favorite religion Buddhism has no mention of masturbation as anything. They list many accurate things under 'sexual misconduct' for example, but masturbation of itself, isn't an 'issue' anywhere. We need to relax on this subject overall.

Oh, absolutely. That'd be sexual misconduct.

I mean normally masturbation is something done behind closed doors. In private etc, doing no harm to others, right? Not letting it all hang out in the street. We don't want to put our stuff on others, yes.
