I'm just starting to get into The L Word - I've been renting it from Netflix, one DVD at a time. I've seen the first 12 eps of the first season so far. Anyone else watch it, and want to talk about it? What do you think of the characters, the plotlines, etc.?

It stands for lesbian, but it's interesting, in the opening sequence, they show a lot of different words that begin with l, and the episode titles seem to have l in them as well. I never realized it before, but there are a lot of great words that begin with l.

I have seen the first three seasons of the L-word. It's hot...but i am not so sure it actually depicts realistic lesbian relationships. I guess that is pretty typical of tv series in general though. If it was realistic it would probably be much more boring. lol

Yeah, reality isn't the same as tv-land. They have to present things in a certain way. It's a better series than I thought it was going to be, though. It also is nice to see a series about lesbians on a mainstream network! I think this year is the sixth and final season - that's pretty successful for a tv show!

Do you have any favorite characters? I like Bette and Tina, and Marina. Shane's pretty cool too.

Yeah I like Bette and Tina. Oh yeah and Shane. Ooops I almost gave some info that you have likely not seen yet. Don't want to spoil it. lol

This may be the sixth season. I don't have Showtime so I buy the series when they come out. I am obviously behind though. My ex and I used to buy them but now that she IS my ex I have a couple seasons and she has the other.

My favorite character is...crap can't remeber the name...the blond that's bi. She is funny.

I know who you're talking about, but I don't know her name either. I like all the characters, actually. I can't think of one I don't like. I feel bad for Jenny, I hope she gets her sexual orientation straightened out (pardon the pun) soon. 'Course then there wouldn't be as much drama if she did....

I'm starting season 2 tomorrow - yay!

Season 2 is going really well so far! I've seen the first 8 episodes, as of this post. I miss the original owner of The Planet, but Kit seems to be doing a great job of keeping it going. I can't believe Bette and Tina are still broken up! I hope they get back together at some point. I like Jenny's new haircut - she looks like Winona Ryder; it's very becoming.

I was kind of upset when Bette and Tina broke up too. I thought can't they show one "normal" healthy lesbian relationship??? lol

Hey, I just remembered...Alice is the blonde bi lady. I like her personality on the show.

Jenny was never a favorite of mine. I guess just too whiney maybe. Cute as hell though. lol

Wasn't Marina the original owner?

Yeah, really! They were together for 8 years! It looks like they're coming back together a little bit, tho. (as of eps 9-12, season 2). It seems like Tina is growing as a person, and becoming more assertive; that may or may not make it possible for she and Bette to get back together.

I feel really sorry for and protective of Jenny. The poor girl seems to have one bad thing after another happen to her. At least she and Shane are buds. Shane seems to be pretty good about not judging people, and giving people second chances.

Yeah, it was Marina. I just couldn't think of her name.

I'm really glad Alice and Dana are together - they make a great couple.

Yay! I'm glad you're a fan!

Who are your favorite characters? (Please, no spoilers - I'm only on ep 12 of season 2)
