1. My mum said her dad was dying but seemed ok with it. This would not happen IRL.

2. My friend was messing around with someone in my class n I tried to intervene. We fell out kinda n I was too embarresed to say sorry. We eventually made it up.

What did these dreams mean ?

Hi, Bryony, welcome to PsychCentral.

Dreams are part of the dreamer's psyche so only the person with the dream can say for sure what they "mean". But if your dreams were mine, for your first dream I'd think about my dad or the "masculine"/out-in-the-world, take charge part of myself dying and how I'd feel about it. Do you feel like giving up trying to make changes in your life and how you relate to the world? How do you feel about how you relate, how you think others feel about you.

Dreams are rarely literally about what they show. But you might think about your friend (and your relationship with yourself) and see if you've made a mistake somewhere you're ashamed of, don't want to look at and if you find anything, you can look at it in the privacy of your own head :-) and say "sorry" to yourself and maybe get moving forward in that area.

Since they're our own dreams, all the people we dream about are usually aspects of ourselves. You know how you have a critic in your head? Well, your dreaming self would probably represent that with a person from your life who criticizes you. That way it gets it out of your head and there's two people, yourself and the "critical person" and you can watch what's happening and see it better, in 3D, as it were. Our dreams just try to make a story of what's happening in our lives so we can get it out in front of us and see it and maybe be able to make sense of what is normally unconscious that we can't see but which is bothering us.
