A while ago, I had this dream that I found strange and somewhat disturbing. I normally don't remember my dreams, and if they're all like this, I don't think I want to. :/

-Warning: rated R for description of some torture and blood-

This dream was really disturbing. I was wandering in a less-than-desirable area, like a red light district, of a major city, when I suddenly blacked out. When I came to, I was in the middle of a corn field that was overrun with dead plants. A few hundred feet away from me was a man, stripped naked, with barbed wire running through various parts of his body. As I watched, he struggled to escape, but the barbed wire in him only tore him apart. I could only watch, and while I was frightened on some level, I was more confused than anything else. After the man had been partially disemboweled, the dream repeated itself, this time with a woman instead of a man.

I've been trying to analyze the dream symbols, but none of them really add up, so any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Maybe the dream signifies some sort of struggle you are having in your life.

I love using this site as a tool to help interpret my dreams. Look up anything you can remember and try to piece together the meanings this 'dictionary' gives.

In the very literal sense, everyone is being destroyed around you. If they are people you know then that represents people in your life that you are worried about. If you don't know the people then that represents you feel detached from the rest of humanity , and you feel guilty for it. I do a lot of dream interpretation so this isn't a shot in the dark. Does that seem relevant to you at all?

Many people don't wake up during REM sleep so they don't recall their dreams. Dreams are one way for the brain to process the day's events or thoughts etc, supposedly. Also, medication can cause dreams that "make no sense." Sometimes foods eaten too close to bedtime (or alcohol) can also create some wild dreaming.

If you can't make anything out of it, then quit trying. It could be due to an above listed cause, or it could be you aren't ready to interpret anything about it yet.

With that said, sometimes the brain portrays in dreams a culmination of our inner fears. It tries them "on" the person by having it occur to someone else, for you first-a man, then -a woman- it might continue this way if it truly has something to show you... before having a situation including yourself as caught in that tangled mess of barbed wire. You get what I mean?

IDK but if you are a visual person to begin with, and then you, in your real awake life, add in hyper violence of movies or even active video games, then your dreaming might just be heightened also.

Hope you sleep well tonight.
