For about two weeks I havent let myself get to sleep until 2,3 or 4 o clock in the morning because my depression doesnt hurt me as much as when im fully conscious. But its getting to the point where im on the verge of passing out all the time, What should I do?

When do you feel worst? When you are just dozing off?

One technique that works for me is a relaxation technique, imagine you are on the beach by yourself and imagine you're just laying there in the sun. Concentrate on all the feelings - the heat on your skin, the sand beneath you, the sound of the waves rhythmically crashing against the shore.

Then slowly go through each part of your body - tensing and relaxing. Start with your face - scrunch your face up completely and stay like that for 10 seconds, then slowly relax your face and concentrate on the feeling of your muscles relaxing. Continue to your shoulders, arms, hands, fingers, torso, buttocks, legs, feet, toes etc concentrate on what you can physically feel. This will not only help you relax it will also keep your mind occupied and you may find you doze off before you are finished. If you still feel uptight, start the routine again until you truly feel relaxed and calm.

Hope this helps x

Relax yourself before going to sleep could help. Try techniques that PeculiarGroove advises. I love this technique also.

And you can try this 100-to-1 deeper technique to fall asleep as my insomnia self help. This helps me to sleep easily.

Btw, having banana before going to bed could help also.

Hope these help you sleep well tonight.

Thank you for posting and I am sorry that you are not sleeping. I have not slept for a long time and when I do it is like an hour or two. I also find that many times I can sleep during the day better than at night. I know how exhausting it can be and how hard it is to go through your day when you are not getting sleep.

I have a friend who told me to go to bed and to start at your feet and tell each part of your body goodnight. Many times you will fall asleep before you are done. I have tried this and at times it will work. Sometimes I have to start over if I dose off then wake back up. Sometimes it will work if I am really exhausted but many times I am up all night or fall asleep for a little bit before I am wide awake again.

Do you see a doctor or t? Maybe this has something to do with something you are dealing with. Many times for me I am scared of the night for much took place in the night. Do you take anything to help you sleep? Maybe your doctor could help you there. And a t could help you get to what is keeping you from sleeping. Also sometimes it is what we eat before going to bed. Just something to look at.

Thank you for posting and please keep writing and letting us know how you are doing. Sleep is important for us to be able to function and for our bodies to recover. I know I am not really one to give advice as I do not sleep much myself but know that I am listening and hearing what you are saying.

Sending gentle hugs and loving thoughts.
